Creator Sarah J. Pan, Lakshmi Leishangthem
Subject Tumors
Description Intracranial meningiomas are twice as common in women as in men, and can have a presentation similar to idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH). Angiomatous meningiomas are a rare WHO grade I variant (2.1% of all meningiomas), and appear similar to hemangiopericytomas, a subtype of solitary fibrous tumors which express STAT6. Microcystic meningiomas are a rare variant with atypical appearance (1.6% of intracranial meningiomas).
