Color transparency photo from Kenneth Fielding McAllister's river trip with SOCOTWA through Glen Canyon, June 5-13, 1956. A view of Bridge Canyon en route to Rainbow Bridge. McAllister's notes for photos 17 - 23: We hiked up on top of on the Bridge. I was lowered over a ledge off of a connecting plateau next to the Bridge...this was the only way to actually reach the top of the bridge. You will note the ropes in one of the photos. In one of the photos taken from the ground level. You can see the rest of us on the top of the Bridge. I was told that air planes flew under the Bridge. |
