Many of this type of house were built of stone and adobe. It is thought by locals that William Ford built the house and had a blacksmith shop just to the west. 1870 deed to Samuel B. Frost Jr. In 1877 a William Ford buys the lot for one-hundred dollars. Ford probably built the house soon after this date. Ford was married, but had no family. He was a blacksmith and his shop was located on this lot. About 1920, Edward Sahlburg lived here, ann William FOrd moved to block 55 lot 4 • --------------------------------- .
