Site #243 Sanstrom, Eric House 422 East 400 North Spring City, Sanpete County 5 243 (" Erick Sandstrom Architect/Builder: adobe wi stucco Building Type/Style: vernacular Building Materials: Description of physical appearance & significant architectural features: (Include additions. alterations. ancillary structures. and landscaping if applicable) The Sandstrom house is very unusual in Spring City and probably represents a Swedish-American accoJOOdation of building traditions. The house is one-story in height. There was a 10ft above the floor joists whiCh was reached by an outside door (tax card photo) which was located on the south end! The house separates the door and the two windows found opening into the south room. The chimney is of the stove flue variety and is located on the partition divided the structure into ~ rooms of roughly equal size. , Erixon, in his work on Swedish folk architecture, shows houses similar in floor plan arrangemnt and others exhibit:ing ' the low ay~...trical front piercing pattern, yet no direct analogues can be found.
