This pattern book plan is one of many such popular house designs which found their liay into Spring City in the late nineteenth century. The pattern combines ' elements of older folk house internal space with more progressive extenal trappings. The l8l.0 patent went to Sidney H. Allred, sold to George Downaid in 1878 for one-htmdred <Iollars; 1882 to AYel Tulgreen one-htmdred dollars; Jom ·Frank Allred 1884 for eighty dollars; 1884 to Ellen Tulgreen for one-htmdred dollars. The Tul:greens held the lot for about a thirty year period and probably were the builders of the house. Ellen sells the portion of the lot lmere the house is to ~l Teu1green in 1893 for two-htmdred dollars. Transferred back to Ellen 1'u1green in 1900 for one-htmdred dollars.
