Description The purpose of this dissertation was to create a textbook that supplements traditional statistics curriculum. Emphasis was placed on statistical computing. Multiple computing environments were used to demonstrate essential skills for the applied statistican. Mathematical theory was developed in order to make the text self contained. A technique was developed to replace a faulty command for computing moment generating functions within Mathematica.
