Title Design and implementation of an X-ray file tracking system
Date 1980-06
Description Described is the design and implementation of a computerized radiology file tracking system. This file tracking system is part of the office management ancillary support system of the X-ray Department at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Its purpose is to monitor the movement of patient film folders within that department. The system utilizes bar code input of file folder location. Motivation for installation of such a system is presented. An outline of hardware configuration is given. Data file design is described, and the system software is described in detail. A testing period was conducted to insure the accuracy of the system, and the consequent results of that testing are presented. Advantages of the system are discussed, and extensions to the present design are proposed.
