Subject stenting
Description The majority ofaneurysms are treated after they rupture. The prognosis for patients following surgery for a ruptured intracranial aneurysm is largely dependent on the effects ofthe SAH itself, the complications at surgery, and any associated episodes ofvasospasm (968). Multiple series emphasize a good long-term prognosis for patients who survive the acute event, but a problem in comparing such series is that few use published guidelines to describe the clinical status (including the patient's admitting grade) oftreated patients (969). Predictor ofa good outcome include the clinical grade ofthe patient at the time of admission, age, anterior circulation involvement, and completeness ofclipping (968-972).
