Description Among the fibers that make up the MLF, many carry a conjugate horizontal eye movement command from abducens internuclear neurons in the pons to the medial rectus subdivision of the contralateral oculomotor nuclear complex in the midbrain. Other fibers in the MLF carry signals for holding vertical eye position, for vertical smooth pursuit, and for the vertical VOR. Ocular motor syndromes caused by lesions of the pons. Manifestations.
