Description Ocular complications occur in 60% of GVHD patients. KCS and cicatricial lagophthalmos with corneal sequelae, including punctate keratitis, persistent epithelial defects, and sterile or infectious stromal ulceration are particularly common. Scleritis, uveitis, and iritis also occur. Cataracts occur in patients after BMT. They may be related to a number of factors, including ionizing radiation, steroids, and decreased lacrimal gland function.
