Description |
The laboratory findings in patients with KD are neither specific nor diagnostic, but they may contribute to ruling out or confirming the diagnosis. Nearly all patients have leukocytosis and anemia; most have elevation of acute-phase reactants such as erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein. Many show elevated alpha-1-antitrypsin and serum alanine aminotransferase. In patients with aseptic meningitis, the CSF shows a lymphocytic or mono cytic pleocytosis associated with a mild to moderate increase in the concentration of protein. |
