Description The laboratory findings in patients with KD are neither specific nor diagnostic, but they may contribute to ruling out or confirming the diagnosis. Nearly all patients have leukocytosis and anemia; most have elevation of acute-phase reactants such as erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein. Many show elevated alpha-1-antitrypsin and serum alanine aminotransferase. In patients with aseptic meningitis, the CSF shows a lymphocytic or mono cytic pleocytosis associated with a mild to moderate increase in the concentration of protein.
