Subject Sarcoidosis; Ocular Manifestations
Description From 25 to 80% of patients with sarcoidosis develop ocular manifestations at some time during the course of the disease. In5 50% of patients, ocular signs, symptoms, or both are the presenting clinical manifestations of the disease. The eyelids frequently are affected in sarcoidosis. Palpable masses may develop and then spontaneously disappear within days or a few weeks. Affected eyelids may be slightly erythematous and full, but they show no evidence of suppuration. The lesions may be mistaken for molluscum contagiosum nodules of the eyelids.
