Description |
Versions may be tested by examining the saccadic, pursuit, vestibular, and optokinetic systems. Saccadic eye movements are examined clinically by instructing the patient to alternately fixate upon two targets, usually the examiners finger and nose. Saccades in each direction can be examined in each field of gaze in both the horizontal and vertical planes. The examiner must determine whether the saccades are promptly initiated, of normal velocity, and accurate. Saccades. Pursuit. Vestibular and optokinetic systems. Clinical examination. |
