Description |
Pasteurellae are nonspore-forming, nonmotile, bipolar staining, gram-negative coccobacilli. They are aerobic and facultatively anaerobic. There are eight different species in the genus Pasteurella, but the majority of human infections are caused by one species, P. multocida, of which there are several serotypes. |
