Description The chronic dysimmune polyneuropathies are a clinically heterogeneous group of disorders united by their presumed immune-mediated etiology. CIDP is the most common of these disorders, but differing subtypes are beginning to emerge. These subtypes include multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN), chronic inflammatory axonal polyneuropathy (CIAP), neuropathies in association with serum paraproteins (paraproteinemic neuropathies) and others. In this chapter, we will focus solely on CIDP.
