Description Although Gassel reported no instances in which visual field defects were falsely localizing, we have seen several patients who developed bitemporal hemianopia associated with posterior fossa tumor. In all cases, the tumor produced hydrocephalus with dilation of the third ventricle and pressure on the optic chiasm.
