Description |
Headache is often the first symptom of increased ICP, although there may be a considerable increase in ICP without headache. The characteristics of headaches with increased ICP are nonspecific. They are usually global and aching (tension type), but may be unilateral and throbbing (migrainous). The headache may be constant or intermittent. Neither the severity of the headache nor its location has any value in determining whether an intracranial mass is present and, if so, its location. |
