Description In 1956, C. Miller Fisher described an unusual variant of AIDP (then called GBS). The variant was characterized primarily by external ophthalmoplegia, ataxia, and areflexia. Although similar cases had been described previously, the condition became known as the Miller Fisher syndrome or simply Fishers syndrome.
