Description |
This genus contains three species of bacteria once considered species of Moraxella. None of the species commonly causes ocular or CNS infection. Nevertheless, one species of Kingella, Kingella kingae, can cause bothendophthalmitis and meningitis. Clinical features of K. kingae infection resemble those of infections with other Neisseriaceae, and a high degree of suspicion must be maintained for the correct diagnosis to be made. |
