Description |
While papilledema is an indicator of increased intracranial pressure(ICP) in patients with idiopathic intracranial hypertension(IIH), it takes several days to develop and resolve and does not correlate with immediate changes in ICP. Prior studies have shown that there is a change in the shape of peripapillary Bruch's membrane opening (pBMO) in patients with papilledema weeks after ICPlowering interventions. The objective of this study was to determine whether change in pBMO shape can be detected in patients with and without IIH within one hour after ICP lowering by lumbar puncture (LP). |
