Subject Tacrolimus Toxicity; Optic Neuropathy
Description Tacrolimus is a potent immunosuppressant that inhibits cytokine synthesis and blocks T-cell development. Optic neuropathy from tacrolimus toxicity is very uncommon with only a few case reports in the literature. We report three cases of tacrolimus optic neuropathy following bone marrow transplant complicated by graft versus host disease. These three cases demonstrate differing clinical and radiologic presentations of tacrolimus optic neuropathy.
