Subject Pseudotumor Cerebri, Papilledema
Description Recent studies have suggested that intracranial pressure (ICP) may play a role in the development of glaucoma. It has been specifically hypothesized that the translaminar gradient (TLG) between intraocular pressure (IOP) and the cerebrospinal fluid pressure in the optic nerve sheath may influence optic nerve conformation and axonal damage. This study aims to examine whether the TLG influences the degree of papilledema observed in patients with idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH).
