Description
The ocular adnexa, orbital structures and paranasal sinusand associated diseases can mechanically impair eyemovements though a variety of different mechanisms. These conditions can both physically prevent the eye frommoving to a certain position, and can limit eye movementby entrapping or impairing the movement of an eyemuscle. In addition, these same processes can impair eyemovements through direct effect on cranial nerves 3,4 and6. These clinical presentations will generally be identifiedbased on the circumstances of the patient's presentationand the associated orbital symptoms and signs that usuallyaccompany their presentation.
