Subject Neurofibromatosis 1, Optic Nerve Glioma, Pilomyxoid Astrocytoma, Optic Atrophy
Description "Bilateral optic nerve gliomas are suggestive of NF1 and typically are low grade (WHO Grade I) pilocytic astrocytoma (PA). Pilomyxoid astrocytoma (PMA) is a newly characterized, aggressive glioma (WHO grade II) with a propensity for the hypothalamic-chiasmal axis. It occurs in a younger age group and has a higher recurrence and lower survival rate. There are few reports associating PMA with NF1."
