Description |
Torsional eye movements are defined here as ocular rotations occurring about an eye fixed axis coincident with the line of sight. Many descriptions of torsional eye movements in the clinical literature use the terms rotary or rotatory nystagmus. While these are rotations of the eye about the line between the fovea and center of the pupil, all observable movements of the eye in the orbit are rotatory, consisting of rotation about some axis. Therefore, the term torsional is preferred. |
