Ocular myasthenia gravis (OMG) is a common, localized form of myasthenia gravis limited to the extraocular, levator palpebrae superioris, and orbicularis oculi muscles. Generalization of OMG is believed to occur in 50-80% of patients, usually within 2 years.1 The prevalence of OMG generalization in Asian populations is unclear, although previous studies have suggested that conversion to generalized myasthenia gravis (GMG) may be lower in this part of the world. |
