Integrator Malfunction |

Subject |
Ocular Motor System; Tonic Innervation Deficit; Neural Integrator; Tonic Imbalance; Tonic Instability |
Description |
In the past decade, studies of the ocular motor system, including the plant (i.e. the globe, muscles and supporting tissues) and the motor neurons themselves, have resulted in a hypothesized model which includes a neural integrator. The need for a group of neurons which perform the mathematical function of integration has been shown in both the fast eye movement (saccadic) and slow eye movement (pursuit and vestibula-ocular response) parts of the ocular motor system. |
