Title Ophthalmoscopy in Neuro-Ophthalmology: A Selective Review
Creator Shults, W Thomas
Subject Ophthalmoscopy; Ocular Fundus; Fundus Exam; Retinal Lesions; Optic Nerve Lesions
Description Careful assessment of the ocular fundus is a cornerstone of the neuroophthalmic exam, as well it should be. The neuro-ophthalmic clues to be gained from the fundus are many, but often they are overlooked because data from the history and general neurologic and ocular examinations are not brought to bear when performing ophthalmoscopy. The fundus exam is often perfunctorily carried out without the physician's giving much thought to the task at hand.
