Description This thirty-eight year old native-born right-handed housewife first came to medical attention in her early twenties, when she presented with paroxysmal hemicranial headaches associated with nausea, vomiting and the desire to lie quietly in a darkened room. These occurred irregularly, would last less than forty-eight hours, and resolved without sequelae. Through her mid twenties she noted an increase in the frequency, regularity and severity of these episodes, and in her late twenties suffered paroxysmal ataxia, dysarthria, and hemisensory changes associated with her headaches.
