Description All patients under age 46, seen in the Neuro-ophthalmology Unit at the University of Iowa between 1974 and 1983 were identified. We were looking for a history of headache and heart disease in these patients. The diagnosis was made by reviewing the chart for a history of monocular visual loss. Details of the episode were reviewed and 42 of the 83 patients were seen in follow-up.
