A 69 year old man had a stroke with marked ataxia in all 4 limbs and gait disturbance. About 8 months later he developed blurred vision but denied oscillopsia, vertigo, or diplopia. Examination 4 months later revealed see-saw pendular oscillation of the eyes at a rate of approximately 90 cycles per minute and rhythmic oscillation of the soft palate with clicking at the same rate. At times the head nodded and the glottis rose and fell in synchrony with the other movements. |
