Description |
A 17-year-old woman suffered a cerebellar infarction in the distribution of the superior cerebellar artery. She had migraine headaches and was taking oral contraceptive pills. In addition to ipsilateral limb dysmetria. her clinical syndrome consisted of distinctive ocular motor disturbances that were documented by magnetic search coil oculography: (1) horizontal saccadic inaccuracy, with hypermetria away from the lesion and hypometria toward the lesion; (2) vertical saccadic hypometria, more pronounced upward; (3) horizontal lateropulsion away from the lesion with each vertical saccade; (4) slow drift of the eyes away from the lesion during attempted fixation in -darkness; (5) low smooth pursuit gain in all directions. |
