Title Contrast Sensitivity: Applications in Neuro-ophthalmology
Creator Roy W. Beck, MD
Subject Contrast Sensitivity; Snellen Acuity; Methods of Measurement; Applications
Description Measurement of Snellen acuity represents only a limited aspect of visual perception. It assesses only the ability to see and recognize high contrast test objects of smaller and smaller size. Although this type of measurement provides an accurate assessment of spatial vision in patients with refractive disorders, it is not a good measure of spatial vision in patients with visual pathway disorders.
