Description Although previous reports have evaluated the utility of DWI and gadolinium enhancement in the differential diagnosis of NAION and ON, none of these reports included a sufficient number of subjects to develop firm diagnostic imaging criteria. In this study, we proposed to review a larger series of cases to develop imaging criteria for the differential diagnosis of acute NAION and ON.
