Subject |
Pattern Reversal Visual Evoked Potentials; Relative Afferent Pupil Defects; Optic Neuropathy Indicator |
Description |
Pattern reversal visual evoked potentials (PRVEP) are considered by some to be the most sensitive indicator of an optic neuropathy. It has been our experience that commonly the PRVEP is normal in people with rolativeafferent pupil defects (RAPD) and other evidence of an optic neuropathy. We, therefore, retrospectively compared independently obtained and interpreted PRVEP studies to results of Neuro-Ophthalmologic consultations performed by a single examiner (M.L.R.) who was blinded to the PRVEP results. |
