Title |
Neuro-ophthalmologic Presentations of Ro (SS-A) Autoantibody Production and CNS Sjogren's Syndrome: 10 Diagnostic Dilemmas Solved by Tear Testing |
Creator |
Debra A. Barrett |
Subject |
Sjorgen's Syndrome; Tear Testing; Ribonuclear Protein Autoantibody; Vasculitis |
Description |
Until 10 years ago, CNS manifestations of Sjogren's syndrome were considered rare, although a distinctive peripheral dorsal root ganglionopathy was well described. In 1982, a controversial literature arose from a single institution with the publication of 16 cases of CNS involvement in Sjogren's syndrome collected in only two years. Ro (SS-A) ribonuclear protein autoantibody was reported to be highly correlated (83%) with "vasculitis". |
