Subject Pupillary Light Reflex; Postgeniculate Lesions; Occipital Lobe Infracts; Visual Field Loss
Description This study was undertaken to investigate the effect of postgeniculate lesions on the pupillary light reflex. The pupil responses to focal, hemifield, and full field light stimuli were recorded in 5 patients with occipital lobe infarcts. These responses were compared to those previously recorded from 50 normal subjects and 5 patients with optic tract lesions. A computerized infrared pupillometer linked to a Humphrey field analyzer was used to perform 'pupil perimetry'.
