Subject Abduction Defect; Oculomotor Nerve Aberrant Regeneration; Third Cranial Nerve
Description Aberrant regeneration of the oculomotor nerve (cranial nerve III) is a well known sequel to oculomotor palsy second to intracranial aneurysm. Two cases, one with oculomotor palsy following basilar aneurysm and one after internal carotid artery aneurysm at the juncture of the posterior communicating artery, developed typical features of aberrant regeneration of cranial nerve III with later onset of ipsilateral abduction defects.
