Description Oculomotor palsy with cyclic spasm is a rare but well described entity first reported by Rampoldi in 1884 and reviewed by Loewenfeld and Thompson in 1975. This syndrome is usually noticeable at or shortly after birth and involves variable degrees of third nerve palsy: ptosis, exotropia, hypotropia, and mydriasis.
