Description To describe the visual fields (VF) after posterior GPi pallidotomy for Parkinson's disease. Pallidotomy has become a widely used technique for treating patients with medically intractable Parkinson's disease. The identification of the pallidal target and the creation of the lesion carry a risk of damaging neighboring structures such as the optic tract. Homonymous VF defects have been reported in up to 14% of patients after pallidotomy.
