| Description |
At NANOS 2011 we presented data establishing an association between a Burkholderia pseudomallei-like strain and giant cell arteritis (GCA). This strain is sensitive to minocycline and doxycycline. We are treating a cohort of GCA patients with antibiotics as adjunct therapy to a standard taper of prednisone to determine if antibiotic treatment lowers serum LPS levels and prevents relapse of the disease. |
