Title |
Greater Preservation of Off- Than On-Pathway Ganglion Cell Responses During an Intermediate Stage of Retinal Degeneration in RD1 Mice |
Creator |
Stasheff, Steven F |
Subject |
retinal degeneration, neural reorganization, ganglion cell, multielectrode, electrophysiology |
Description |
The objective of this study was to identify pathway-specific effects of inner retinal reorganization on light-evoked ganglion cell responses in the rd1 mouse model of retinitis pigmentosa. I previously reported (NANOS 2005) that photoreceptor degeneration and anatomic reorganization of the inner retina in rd1 mice is accompanied by spontaneous ganglion cell hyperactivity and temporary preservation of light-evoked responses. |
