Description |
Structural optic nerve damage causing axon loss may be difficult to detect with coexisting optic nerve edema, or other causes of a thickened retinal nerve fiber layer. Sub-layer segmentation of the macula optical coherence tomography (OCT) may help to better define ganglion cell loss. |
