Title Intermittent Refixation Induced Pendular Vertical Nystagmus and Pupillary-Oculomotor Synkinesis: Two Signs of Pontine Hemmorhage
Creator Rosenbery, Michael; Petrock, Anne Marie
Subject Nystagmus; Vertical; Pupil; Synkinesis; Pontine
Description Several different types of eye movement abnormalicies have been described in patients following acute pontine lesions. Vertical pendular nystagmus is relatively uncommon. but when seen is most often constant with or without an associated palatal myoclonus. We describe two patients with intermittent pendular vertical nystagmus following pontine hemorrhage induced by venical refixation movements. In one of these patients eye movement recordings showed a striking correlation between horizontal eye movements and pupillary oscillations.
