History A 44-year old female with a 20-year history of migraine with aura. Previous history significant for supraventricular tachycardia triggered by caffeine and peptic ulcer disease. Post-operative, it was elicited that a tooth extraction had been performed a few weeks prior to the onset of frontal headaches without anti-bacterial prophylaxis.
Pathology Septic inflammation of sphenoid sinus
Disease/Diagnosis Brain abscess secondary to dental infection
Clinical Isolated complete left abduction deficit consistent with left VI nerve palsy.
Presenting Symptom Diplopia; Frontal headache
Neuroimaging CT; MRI
Treatment Surgery; Anti-bacterials agents
