Description Typed transcript of the journal kept by Dr. George B. Sanderson during the march of the Mormon Battalion from Kansas to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and San Diego, California, in 1846 and 1847. Transcript (i, 66 pages) begin in September of 1895 by W. Merrill Glasgow. Accompanied by copies of pages from "The conquest of New Mexico and California," by Lt. Col. Phillip St. George Cooke, and "The Year of Decision," by Bernard DeVoto. Also includes the archival description of the diary provided by the vendor when the Marriott Library purchased it.
