Description Typescript (32 pages) of a speech that Marriner S. Eccles delivered on February 24, 1933, at the Investigation of Economic Problems hearings before the Senate Committee on Finance. This speech led to his being asked to become an assistant to Secretary of the Treasury Henry Morgenthau, Jr. Shortly thereafter, Eccles was nominated by President Roosevelt for the position of Governor of the Federal Reserve Board.
