There is a brick parapet with a shallow, decorative "roof" of red tile at the top of the building. There is a similar roof above the second floor front windows. The front is accented by four brick pilasters. The entrance is framed in orange and black glazed ceramic tile. Dr. Joseph Franklin MCGregor has this apartment building and the one next door at 152 2nd Ave. constructed in about 1929 or 1930. MCGregor sold the building in 1931 to John A. McMillan and John W. Barrett. M::Millan was a brakeman with the Oregon Short Line Railroad. He lived in the Fontene11a Apartments next door. John W. Barrett was a trainsman for for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad and Barrett also lived in Fontenel1a Apartments. He was born in Cleveland. He lived in Salt Lake for ' thirty-four years. He was a member of the Congregational Church and he died in 1943. Dr. Joseph Franklin MCGregor was born in ParQwan, Utah on August 16,1868 to William Campbell and Sarah Fish MCGregor. He received a law degree from the University of Michigan. He practiced law in Parowan. He was a member of the Utah legislature from Iron City in 1899. In 1921 he studied medicine and graduated from the Illinois Medical College in 1904. In 1926 he started a practice in Salt Lake as a dermatology specialist.
