Description The photographs were taken for the 1935 edition of the Uintah High School yearbook. They are on page 10. The page is a memoriam to the students who died in past school years. Top row, from left to right: Wilson Duke, Grace Slaugh, and Dallas Hatch. Second row down, from left to right: Jay Bennion and George Alexander. NOTE: Glen Rooks was not pictured. Wilson Duke died in the same automobile wreck as Dallas Hatch and Grace Slaugh on January 21, 1935. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Duke and he was born on March 31, 1913 in Heber City. He attended Uintah High School and then went to Utah State Agricultural College in Logan. Grace Slaugh died in the same automobile wreck as Dallas Hatch and Charles Dallas Hatch on January 21, 1935. She was born on December 22, 1914 and was the daughter of George A. Slaugh. She attended Uintah High School and then went on to Utah State Agricultural College in Logan. Charles Dallas Hatch died in the same automobile wreck as Wilson Duke and Grace Slaugh on January 21, 1935. He was born on October 27, 1912 in Vernal and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Hatch. He attended Uintah High School and then the Utah State Agricultural College in Logan. Edwin Jay Bennion was born on November 24, 1919 in Logan and died on April 12, 1934. He was the son of Edwin Anthon Bennion and Dora Jones Bennion. He was a freshman at Uintah High School. George Mirl Alexander was born on December 5, 1912 in San Diego California. His family moved to Vernal soon afterward, where he attended Uintah High School and was a star athlete for both the High School and Utah State Agricultural College. He married Carolyn Reid on January 13, 1934. He died in the hospital on February 17, 1935 after a gasoline explosion. Glen Henry Rooks was born on December 16, 1917 in Vernal, Utah. He was the son of Archie B. and Bell Leigh Rooks. He was a sophomore at Uintah High School and was 17 years old when he died on February 25, 1935.
