Student’s Age: 12 Date: 5/11/2020 SCHOOL How did you feel when you learned that schools would close because of the COVID-19 pandemic? I was excited I thought it would be easy to do online school. What do you like the most about online school? I can do all of my assignments online and I dont loose my homework. What do you dislike the most about online school? I cant see my friends or teachers. Without teacher giving us everyday lessons the assignments become harder. What do you miss the most about school? I miss my friends and my teacher. How are you connecting with your school friends during the pandemic? A buch of kids from my school are in a big texting group chat. EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES What activities did you do before the pandemic? (Sports, music, etc. Please be specific.) None. Are you continuing to do them now? If so, how? Do you use a virtual platform? Do you do them as you did before? What do you miss most about doing these activities in person? What do you like most about doing activities online? FAMILY AND HOME What questions do you have about the pandemic? When will it end? How was it started? What has changed the most in your home because of the pandemic? We can't go out without masks, most of the time we don't go out at all, besides our mounthy grocery trip. How do you spend your free time at home? I sleep, do homework, learn a dance, draw, and eat. How have you stayed connected to extended family? How has this changed your relationships? Not really.. Are you learning new skills because of the pandemic? (Cooking, babysitting, house chores, arts, crafts, etc.?) If so, what are they? Yes, I have learned to cook, I cook almost everyday with my mom. SOCIETY How has the pandemic affected your community? How has it affected our state? Its hard not seeing friends, family, and teachers. Do you see any positive impacts from the pandemic? Explain… I have more free time to do what I want. Do you see any negative impacts from the pandemic? Explain… Yes, I have to stay home all day, I cant see my friends, I have to wear masks, and I cant go out. What do you want future generations to know about what it’s like to experience a pandemic? It sucks, get crafts or somthing to keep you busy. |
